Two-double-O-seven

Hi everyone. As I start writing my first post for the new year two-double-O-seven Id like to wish you all a prosperous and successful new year and send you eid greetings as well(although its quite late for tat). Hope that all of you would be able to build upon the solid foundations that you have laid in the past years and move on to bigger and better things.
The last day of 2006 left me wondering about some stuff. One of the things that kept bugging me was who I shud be spending new years eve with. I mean cmon, dont you sometimes have that problem too? Who would you rather spend the last night of an year with, for the ones who celebrate these days that is. Would it be your girlfriend? Your office mates? Or your friends? And what about family? Ur supposed to spend the time of year wit your loved ones ryte? Arent all of the above loved ones? Hehe
So I guess youll jus have to improvise each year. Be with as many ppl as you can. Anyways havent got much to write for now, was in quite a rush actually. Will rite again sometime soon. Take care all of yah, and a very happy new year again.

Beauties

Women are poisonus. Especially the beautiful ones. Well not all of them, but quite a handful I believe takes advantage of god's gift of beauty bestowed upon them in the worst of ways.
The beautiful ones like i said have playful minds. They see every guy as an obstacle which they need to overcome. To have some fun and to fulfill their needs. They feel that they can get away with anything, which is true in most cases.
Looks can be deceiving and with their hearts and raging hormones in action, most young guys often fall for the trap set by the so called beauties. Acting innocent and sweet is something they use for a method of flirting as well as for getting away with almost anything, even being caught red handed while cheating on one of their many boyfriends. Hehe.
The thing is that good guys often fall for these traps. Good, decent guys who would otherwise be living successful happy lives and having the time of their life if not for these heartbreaking beauties. And these guys who have hearts of gold, fail to see behind the fake acts put up by the beauties, give them second , even third and fourth chances, everytime to be deceived and heartbroken again.
All I am saying is not to be moved everytime a girl twists her hip, or fondles her hair, or gives you one of those smiles which would make you feel she has a thing for you. That is if you are thinkin about serious relationships. I see no harm in playing along with the ones who want to play and have fun. Hehe :P
I hope I havent offended the kind hearted beautiful girls out there. I know that everyone is not the same, like I said they are only a handful, or a bit more perhaps. Hehe. I have seen some girls who are too good to be true. Some who are blazing beauties from the outside as well as from the inside. Beauties who actually give thought to stuff other than how they look and their makeup. Beauties who are considerate enough and bright enough to know what really matters.
As they say inner beauty is what really matters. Although it wouldnt hurt to get a gurl who is exceptionally beautiful on the outside as well. It is what is inside that makes you who you are, not the brightly coloured shell that you would be wearin for everyone to see. So guys, dont judge books by their covers. Dont go for just the beautiful ones. Try to connect with them, try to see whats within, and if their is nothing good then it really wudnt be worth it.
And the beauties out there going on playin around with guys and fooling around, dont think that you could get away with it everytime, cux u wont. Its just a fact of life.
No offences to anyone, was just really bored. Catch ya all some other time then. Adios

Aloha to 2007

With the new year 2007 just around the corner, I think it is time to reflect back on the past year. Take some time to think about what you have accomplished and what you have failed to do. Give some thought to the lows and highs of the past year. Afterall it is always best to learn from the mistakes you made and try to move ahead with past experiences in mind.
With the coming new year also comes the new year resolutions. Some resolutions are aimed at changing the smallest things while the others for changing lives completely. With billions of people making resolutions each year, I wonder how many actually stick to what they aim to do. I believe it is only a fairly small portion from the billions of people making resolutions, that stick to theirs throughout.
I have always had this wonder about why people wait for the new year to make resolutions. Why does everything people do always have to be related with a special date. Be it asking someone to be your gf/bf, or choosing a day to start praying, or studying etc etc. I feel that if you want to change a bad habit, or stop a bad one, you should start right away. I mean if you wait to start doing your prayers the coming year, what if you die before that. I mean that is a possibilty right? So in my opinion never wait for the right date or right time to move on to something better. Cux the right time would only come when you take that step. Besides, no date is special until something special is done on that date. So why not do something on a not so special date and make that your special date?
On the other hand Ive heard that it gives people a psychological advantage in trying fight their bad habits when they choose certain special dates such as the January 1st as it gives them a chance to build up mentally to a big day in life. Well that may be true. But I just dont think it would be a good idea to wait for the right date or time, I would suggest to get yourself started right away.
With all that said, I too have some resolutions for the new year. Hehe :P Well I seriously feel that I should learn from the mistakes Ive made this year, be a lil more serious and focus more on studies, have as much fun as I can ( thats one thats gonna be there every year ) and just be a better person than I was before.
It all sounds simple in writing. I guess even if people wait for the right date and time, if eventually they move ahead on to something better, then there is no harm in that, right? Its way better than stayin where you are or goin backwards.
I know that as with the past 17 years of my life, the coming year would also be one one full of surprises and mixed emotions. I just hope I take everything in the best I can. Adios for now and good luck to you all for the year ahead. :)

Sweet Higher Secondary

Higher Secondary, I thought it was a cool place. A place where I would get to enjoy and study really well without having to bother about school 'rules and regulations' that we were being nagged by in our primary and secondary grades.
But it turned out that with the advancement in our studies, the rules and regulations even became stricter. Well not that strict really, I think it would be an exaggeration if I were to say that the rules and regulations of the higher secondary grades are more of a headache. But nonetheless I find it a bit too strict. I used to hear my brothers and older friends speakin about the higher secondary of before, the so called perfect place, the 'utopia', where everything was cool. Then was a time when students would not have to worry much about their hairstyle, or the colour of their socks. What I am trying to say is that in today's higher secondary, their is so much emphasis on the rules and things like the uniform code that most students have a hard time concentrating on their studies while having to run back and forth to their houses trying to deal with their facial hair.
One more thing that I do not support at our higher secondary is the prefect board. I thought the higher secondary was where 'La'creme' of all Maldivian students got together. I do not think that anyone would feel the necessity to have prefects nagging them about the rules as I believe each and every student in the higher secondary is more than capable of looking after themselves and abiding by the rules themselves. Like I said, it is only the best of the best that make it this far. I feel that the unity of the school students would have been stronger if not for the election of the prefects. Instead there could be something like a student board where the students have more power to make the best use of their creative minds and their fantastic thoughts. I feel that the students of the higher secondary should be allowed to be more independent.
On the other hand I may be wrong about some of the opinions I have expressed. For instance it may not be that today we see only the best of the best in Higher Secondary. The immense school population would be proof of this. So the changes brought to today's higher secondary maybe a good thing. But hey, these are just my thoughts. After all it is a free country, Ryte? heheh

Egypt 1

Its been a long long time since ive posted something. So it feels good to be back and feels great to write something again.
Well my trip to egypt was really something to remember. Afterall fascinating events are inevitable when you travel abroad, especially if you are travelling alone. I thought it was gonna be really difficult for me inside the airport since it was my first time travelling alone, but to be frank it was a piece of cake. Im quite sure that anyone who is literate would be able to travel to any place he wants without having any kinda problems.
Well anyways it was when I enterd egypt things started getting scary. The airport officials started getting bigger and scarier and unfortunately for me most of them didnt speak english! When I reached the passport checking booth the dude behind the desk looked at me suspiciously. When I handed him my passport it was obvious by the look on his face that he didnt recognize Maldives. So he told me to stand aside and he called another superior looking official. The guy took my passport and put it through some kinda scanner 3 or 4 times and finally I got clearance.
Luckily for me before I felt any sensation of being lost, I found a guy holding a board with my name on it. I was saved! heheh. Even more fortunate was the fact that I met two other Maldivians who had also gone to the airport to recieve me as I was getting out of the airport. This turned out to be a piece of really good fortune as none of the other people which came to get me from the hotel spoke english.
Anyhow I was pooped when I reached the really glamourous Armored Forces Hotel. Atleast it was glamourous from outside. I was made to stay for over an hour at the reception before I was sent to my room. So much for good hospitality. I found out the I was to share the room with a Srilankan and a dude from New Zealand. It was a reliefe to find this out as I didnt wana spend my time alone and bored. Since I was pooped, I 'dropped dead' on my bed the minute I saw it. To be continued...... ;)

U know that you are in love when,
- U miss her every moment she is away,

- U start writing poems though ur not a poet,
- U start acting extraordinarily sweet when she is around you,
- U go out of your way to do super sweet things just to get her to smile,
- U turn from a gangster into a monk just for her,
- Ur lips crave for a kiss from her everytnyte before you say goodbye to her,
- U start listening to love songs too often,
- U find yourself calling her even late at night after finding a way to get some crdt on your phone, despite being broke,

Adios (for a few days)

Hey ppl. Its been a long time since iv last blogged. Again I have been really busy with my exams and some other stuff. Despite all this 'busi-ness', the last few days of my life have been really great. And it is all because of a great person that ive met in the past few weeks.
This may seem a lil bit mushy love story kinda thing to all you ppl. But this certain person, has made me feel really great even during the few weeks that ive known her, and she really means a lot to me now. It makes me think about how a person can play such a huge role in another person's life and change everything for a person. How a person's care and involvement could change another person's life.
Well enough of that. Hehe. Btw Im leaving to Egypt, the land of the pharoahs and the great pyramids, mid of October for a koran competition. Im gona be away for somethin lik e 2 weeks. So gona miss u guys a lot. Would try to post something a bit useful soon. :) Btw ramazan mubarik to everyone.
